Scarlett Johansson OpenAI Voice Clone: Scarlett Johansson has accused a tech company of replicating her voice without consent after she declined their offer.
The New York City actress stated, “Last September, Sam Altman approached me with an offer to lend my voice to the ChatGPT 4.0 system.”
Altman suggested that Johansson’s voice could bridge the gap between the tech industry and creatives, and ease consumer concerns about the integration of AI. Despite this appeal, Johansson turned down the offer for personal reasons.
However, Johansson later discovered that the company had seemingly proceeded with their plans regardless.
“Nine months later, my friends, family, and the public noticed that the new AI system, ‘Sky,’ had a voice strikingly similar to mine,” Johansson reported.
Upon hearing the demo, she was shocked and angered by the uncanny resemblance. Johansson mentioned that Altman hinted at the intentional similarity by tweeting “her,” referencing her role as the AI Samantha in the film “Her.”
Johansson claimed that just two days before the ChatGPT 4.0 demo release, Altman reached out to her agent, asking her to reconsider the offer.Through the above article, we can recommend you the latest dresses.Shop dress in a variety of lengths, colors and styles for every occasion from your favorite brands.
“By the time we could respond, the system was already live,” Johansson explained.
In response to these actions, Johansson hired legal counsel, who sent two letters to Altman and OpenAI, demanding details about the creation of the ‘Sky’ voice.
Johansson stated that OpenAI eventually agreed to remove the ‘Sky’ voice following her legal intervention.
