EXCLUSIVE: Andrew Singer, former President of Film & Television of Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video, has launched Revue Studios, a new independent content studio backed by Wasserman, the sports, music and entertainment company founded and run by Casey Wasserman.
Singer will oversee the scripted operation with focus on comedy, which fits his background at Broadway Video, emphasizing premium storytelling.
The launch of Revue Studios expands Wasserman’s footprint in entertainment. It was established with the 2023 acquisition of talent management and production company Brillstein Entertainment Partners whose CEO Jon Liebman oversees Wasserman’s businesses in that space, including BEP, the non-fiction division launched last year with Zoe Rogovin at the helm and now Revue Studios. The previously unnamed non-fiction unit, which has been making strides in the documentary, docu-series and original format spaces, will now carry the Revue banner which could also expand into other content areas in the future, including genre and YA.
Revue will operate autonomously, partnering with different talent agencies and management companies and employing a studio model tailored to various networks, streamers, live entertainment and social media platforms. It is separate from BEP and its scripted unit Brillstein Creative Partners, most recently run by Allie Goss, which will continue to exist under the management company’s umbrella.
The new company’s launch comes as independents have been facing challenges amid industry contraction post-Peak TV. Business has started to pick up this year — including in comedy, which went through a recent downturn.

The name of the new company plays homage to entertainment history — and Wasserman’s family history too. Casey Wasserman’s grandfather, Hollywood mogul Lew Wasserman, launched Revue Productions in 1950s to produce original television programming, redefining the business and making talent the driving force behind storytelling. Carrying on the legacy, Revue Studios is similarly looking to empower creators and talent.

Singer is bringing 25 years of experience, 21 and a half of them at Broadway Video. As Deadline reported exclusively in late December, Singer left Michaels’ banner with the intention to launch a production company.
In his most recent role as President of Film & Television and Head of West Coast Operations, Singer oversaw Broadway Video’s staff, development slate, and production deals with NBCUniversal and Paramount Pictures.
Beginning as an associate producer on the Emmy-winning series 30 Rock, during his tenure, Singer was instrumental in the sale, launch, and production of Broadway Video’s slate of series, including the Peabody and Emmy-winning Portlandia, Emmy-winning Schmigadoon!, Emmy-nominated Documentary Now!, Peabody-winning Los Espookys as well as AP Bio, Miracle Workers, Man Seeking Woman, The Other Two, Shrill, Detroiters, and Bupkis, on all of which he has served as executive producer.
Singer began his career in development at Carsey Werner Mandabach and joined Broadway Video in July 2003.
