Marvel Studios isn’t the only one with a movie kicking off summer on May 2 with Thunderbolts* but Lionsgate has just added Joe Carnahan’s Shadow Force to that weekend.
The Kerry Washington and Omar Sy starring movie follows the duo who were were once the leaders of a multinational special forces group called Shadow Force. They broke the rules by falling in love, and in order to protect their son, they go underground. With a large bounty on their heads, and the vengeful Shadow Force hot on their trail, one family’s fight becomes all-out war. Carnahan co-wrote with Leon Chills.
Washington produces with Pilar Savone, Stephen “Dr.” Love, and Sterling K. Brown.
Pic also stars Mark Strong, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Cliff “Method Man” Smith.
Lionsgate presents, in association with Media Capital Technologies, a Made with Love / Simpson Street / Indian Meadows production.
Also wide on May 2 is Variance’s David Dastmalchian horror movie Rosario with Roadside Attractions’ Nicolas Cage movie The Surfer going moderate.
