Ally fans rejoiced as Lady Gaga reprised her hit song from A Star Is Born (2018) for the first night of Coachella 2025.
Following some tracks from her latest album Mayhem, as well as some of her other bops, Gaga performed her Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning song ‘Shallow‘, which she originally sang with co-star Bradley Cooper for the acclaimed remake.
“You know, since the last time I played Coachella, I’ve had some songs come out,” she prefaced. “But one of them, I think back to being here and remember how special it was that I got to perform here. And we filmed a movie, a movie that changed my life, helped me say something I hadn’t said before.”
Gaga continued, “I’m so excited to sing this for you here tonight, I couldn’t wait. I hope you sing it as loud as you can. There ain’t nothing like you. Come on, let’s get far from the shallow.”
Directed by Cooper, 2018’s A Star Is Born featured the actor as seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers and falls in love with struggling artist Ally (Gaga), helping her break out in her career while battling his own inner demons.
Gaga is the latest to lead the iconic film, which past iterations have starred Barbra Streisand in 1976, Judy Garland in 1954 and Janet Gaynor in 1937.
In addition to Gaga, headliners for Coachella 2025 include Green Day and Post Malone, also featuring performances by Missy Elliott, Charli XCX, Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd, Shaboozey, Ty Dolla Sign, Misfits, Prodigy, FKA Twigs and Jimmy Eat World.
