Scott Foley doesn’t think a Felicity reboot could happen due to the actors’ ages.
While appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America, Foley was asked about a potential reboot for the WB drama, which ended its four-season run in 2002.
Michael Strahan asked Foley if he would be down to star in a revival of the series he co-starred with Keri Russell and Scott Speedman.
“Of course I’d do it,” Foley said. “My question to you, Michael: I’m going to be 53 this year. I feel like the Felicity reboot window may have passed.”
Strahan added, “It’s Felicity of the future,” and Foley joked, “It’s Cocoon Felicity.”
Foley was referencing 1985’s Cocoon, a film directed by Ron Howard about a group of senior citizens who are rejuvenated when they encounter aliens.
“I feel like I’m Wilford Brimley’s age when he did Cocoon,” Foley joked.
Strahan noted that people would still watch that reboot with Foley saying, “Listen, if they’ll watch, I’m all for it.”
Lara Spencer added that Russell is “magic,” and Foley agreed, adding, “She’s the best. Keri Russell is undoubtedly a true talent, a true beauty, one of the best their is.”
While promoting The Diplomat late in 2024, Russell told E! News she “would totally” be down for a reboot “if it was the right stuff.”
When asked what Felicity would be up to in 2024, Russell said, “Mandy had a good pitch for it, actually. A really good pitch for, like… life wasn’t going great and, you know, didn’t work out. And she was supposed to be all these things. And then she bumps into someone….”
Felicity is a show created by JJ Abrams and Matt Reeves that premiered in 1998 and ran for four seasons on The WB. The series followed Felicity Porter as she attended college in New York City after following her high school crush across the country from her home in California.
A love triangle between Felicity, Ben (Scott Speedman), and Noel (Scott Foley) persisted throughout the show’s run, with the question finally answered in the series finale, but not before a time-traveling episode to show an alternative ending.
