Shooting at Drake’s Mansion Injures Security Guard
Drake Mansion Shooting : A security guard was shot outside rapper Drake’s Toronto mansion early Tuesday morning in a drive-by incident. This comes just days after fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar used an image of the residence for his latest diss track aimed at Drake.
The shooting occurred around 2:00 am ET at Drake’s luxurious home in the upscale Bridle Path neighborhood. According to Toronto police, the guard was stationed near the property’s entrance when an unidentified assailant shot him. The suspect escaped in a vehicle.
The unnamed security guard sustained a chest wound and was unconscious upon police arrival. He was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. Authorities haven’t confirmed whether Drake was present during the incident, but his representatives are cooperating with the investigation.
Escalating Feud Between Rappers
This violent incident follows a heightened feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Lamar recently released three diss tracks targeting Drake within a short timeframe. One of the tracks, titled “Not Like Us,” featured an image of Drake’s mansion on its cover art, which some believe may be linked to the shooting.
Following the diss track’s release, Lamar’s fans altered labels on Google Maps, renaming streets in Drake’s neighborhood with references to Lamar. The feud reportedly began a month prior when Lamar criticized Drake and J. Cole in his song “First Person Shooter.”
Drake retaliated with a diss track accusing Lamar of domestic violence, and Lamar countered by alleging Drake has a hidden daughter. In another song, “Not Like Us,” Lamar accuses Drake of inappropriate behavior towards young women.
