EXCLUSIVE: Relativity Media and Inaugural Entertainment are set to release The Knife, a thriller marking the directorial debut of Nnamdi Asomugha, which he co-wrote with Mark Duplass, in theaters nationwide on August 15.
Winning Best New Narrative Director and Best Cinematography in its world premiere at Tribeca, The Knife tells the story of a young family whose world is thrown into chaos by the unexpected arrival of a stranger in their home. As tension builds over one harrowing night, a determined detective races to uncover long-buried truths and the far-reaching consequences of past choices.
Asomugha stars alongside Oscar winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away with Murder), and Manny Jacinto (The Good Place). Also the winner of Deauville’s Jury Prize, the film is produced by Asomugha’s iAm21 Entertainment and Duplass Brothers Productions. Producers are Asomugha, Jonathan T. Baker, and Ami Werges. Executive producers are Mark Duplass, Mel Eslyn, Jay Duplass, Shuli Harel, Rao Meka, Chijioke Asomugha, and Akbar Gbajabiamila.
