EXCLUSIVE: Lincoln Child’s New York Times bestselling book series Jeremy Logan, is being put into feature development at Amazon MGM Studios with Safehouse Pictures producing.
Jeremy Lott and Cory Goodman are writing the script. The film will follow Jeremy Logan who is a self-proclaimed “enigmatologist,” an investigator who works to debunk the paranormal and unexplained using modern science. The Jeremy Logan books include the Child’s novels Deep Storm, Terminal Freeze, The Third Gate, The Forgotten Room, Full Wolf Moon, and Chrysalis.
The film will fall under Safehouse Pictures’ first-look film deal with the studio, with Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell producing.
Goodman and Lott are currently adapting the comic series Proof for FOX. They have also landed several seven-figure spec deals including Lore for Warner Bros. starring Dwayne Johnson, and Hood for Sony with Jerry Bruckheimer producing. Separately, Goodman wrote Priest and Underworld: Awakening for Screen Gems, The Last Witch Hunter for Lionsgate, and previously collaborated with Safehouse Pictures on The Oberlin Incident for Paramount. Additionally, Lott is executive producing Hannibal for Netflix. This project marks a homecoming for Lott as he worked at MGM until 2012. Goodman is repped by Verve, Aperture, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, et al. Lott is represented by Aperture and Goodman, Genow, Schkenman, Shelkinson, et al.
Safehouse Pictures is a bi-coastal production company run by producers Tunnell and Harold that creates content for both film and television. Founded in 2005, Safehouse Pictures currently has a TV deal with Legendary TV and a first-look feature deal with Amazon. Their upcoming March 14 theatrical release is the subversive action-thriller Novocaine starring Jack Quaid, Amber Midthunder and Ray Nicholson from Paramount. They also just premiered their documentary Andre is an Idiot, which they produced for A24, at January’s Sundance Film Festival, which won the Audience Award. Prior to that this past spring, they produced Netflix’s global number one hit Atlas, starring Jennifer Lopez, Sterling K. Brown and Simu Liu. They recently wrapped production on season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of the Monsters for Apple TV+ starring Kurt Russell, Anna Sawai, Wyatt Russell and more. They previously produced season 1 of Monarch, which was a smash hit for Apple TV +, resulting in Safehouse now developing a universe of Monsterverse spinoffs. Previously, Safehouse Pictures executive produced Spinning Out starring Kaya Scodelario and January Jones for Netflix, the critically acclaimed Underground starring Aldis Hodge and Jurnee Smollett for WGN, My Blind Brother starring Adam Scott, Nick Kroll, and Jenny Slate for Starz and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, and Djimon Hounsou, which Harold also wrote. Individually, Harold wrote and executive produced Obi-Wan Kenobi for Disney+ starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. He also co-wrote Transformers: Rise of the Beasts directed by Steven Caple Jr. for Paramount, The Flash directed by Andy Muschietti, and Army of the Dead directed by Zack Snyder for Netflix. Harold previously executive produced Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, and John Wick 3 starring Keanu Reeves. They are currently in active development on a variety of projects including Backwards with Shawn Levy for Netflix, World War II action-drama The Liberators with Michael B.
