EXCLUSIVE: Yellowjackets is on track to clock its most-streamed season yet.
Season 3 viewership is up 39% over Season 2 on Paramount+ with Showtime, per parent company Paramount Global. This does not include viewership on the linear channel (which goes by the same name) on Sunday nights.
Since its February debut, the first episode of the season has amassed 4.7M global cross-platform viewers, Paramount Global says, marking a 131% increase. The Season 3 premiere is up 38% over the Season 2 premiere on streaming alone.
Along with these viewership updates, Deadline also has an exclusive look at next week’s episode, where Misty confronts Taissa about where she was the night Lottie died. Watch the clip above.
There’s not much historical data for Yellowjackets to compare. Nearly 2M viewers tuned in for the Season 2 premiere last March, and within a week, the episode had doubled its viewership to 4M. The Season 2 finale drew 1.5M viewers in its premiere weekend, but Paramount Global didn’t say how that audience grew in the weeks after release.
Yellowjackets Season 3 picks up directly in the aftermath of the Season 2 finale. Per the logline: “As summer arrives, the Yellowjackets face a fragile victory—the brutal winter that nearly claimed them is finally behind them, but distrust in leadership and tension within the team jeopardize their chances of being rescued. In the present, long-buried secrets from their pasts begin to surface. As the women fight to keep their lives from unraveling, they must confront a chilling question: who are they really, and what dark truths are they hiding from each other and themselves?”
Episodes debut on Friday on streaming before airing on the linear network Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Yellowjackets is created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. Lyle, Nickerson and fellow showrunner Jonathan Lisco serve as executive producers. Drew Comins of Creative Engine also serves as executive producer along with Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa and Brad Van Arragon. The series is produced for Showtime by Lionsgate Television.
