EXCLUSIVE: Amazon MGM Studios‘ Orion Pictures has rounded out the cast of Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, its new film teaming Mahershala Ali with Mogul Mowgli filmmaker Bassam Tariq, on which we were recently first to report.
Newcomers include John Cho (Afraid), Giancarlo Esposito (also newly added to Elegance Bratton’s By Any Means), Abubakr Ali (Anything’s Possible), Severance breakout Tramell Tillman, Tiffany Boone (Mufasa: The Lion King), Laith Nakli (Problemista), Adia (Full Circle), and Jahleel Kamara (Nanny).
The plot of the film and character breakdowns are being kept under wraps. Tariq is directing from his own script and producing alongside Lucan Toh and Babak Anvari of Two & Two Pictures. The project marks a reunion of sorts for Ali and Tariq, who were at one point set to team on Blade for Marvel Studios.
Coming off of Oscar nominations for RaMell Ross’ Nickel Boys, Orion’s upcoming slate also includes Frankie Shaw’s feature directorial debut 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank and the thriller Nanny Cam teaming creatives George Tillman Jr. and Nelson Greaves, among other projects.
Cho is represented by UTA, 3 Arts, and Yorn Levine. Esposito is repped by CAA, Sugar23, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Ali is repped by Gersh, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, and Gang, Tyre, Ramer. Tillman is repped by Principal Entertainment LA, UTA, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Boone is repped by CAA, Vault Entertainment, and Felker, Toczek, Suddleson. Nakli is with IAG. Adia is repped by Tash Moseley Management and Del Shaw Moonves. And Kamara is with T.
