Twisted Metal is racing toward its return to Peacock for Season 2, and the streamer has finally revealed when episodes will become available.
Per a release date teaser on Thursday, Season 2 will debut on July 31. The teaser, embedded below, doesn’t give away much more about the season than had already been revealed in previous trailers, but we know that Raven (Neve Campbell) has been grooming Anthony Mackie’s John Doe for the sinister Twisted Metal Tournament — which looks to be about as lovely as lovely as it sounds.
The teaser does feature a glimpse at Calypso, the man who hosts the tournament, as well as a signature laugh from Sweet Tooth the terrifying clown.
Also on Thursday, Peacock released some photos of the upcoming season, including the one above of John racing past a car. See the rest of the episodic images below.
Following the revelations in the Season 1 finale, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly ‘Twisted Metal’ tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso (Anthony Carrigan). As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth (Will Arnett & Joe Seanoa aka Samoa Joe), things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.
Recurring guest stars include Saylor Bell Curda, Lisa Gilroy, Richard de Klerk, Patty Guggenheim, Tiana Okoye, Michael James Shaw.
Mackie executive produces the series longside Smith (Cobra Kai), Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Will Arnett and Marc Forman (Electric Avenue), Jason Spire (Inspire Entertainment), Grant Dekernion, Peter Principato (Artists First), Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan from PlayStation Productions and Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios.
Directors include Phil Sgriccia (201-202, 205-206), Bill Benz (203-204, 211-212), Iain MacDonald (207-208) and Bertie Ellwood (209-210).
The show hails from Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
