EXCLUSIVE: Innovative Artists Entertainment has inked producer-director-actress Melissa Joan Hart for acting, producing, directing, and crossover work in public appearances and conventions.
Hart is well known for her series Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Clarissa Explains It All, and also won a People’s Choice Award for her work on Melissa & Joey. She also led the Netflix family sitcom series No Good Nick opposite Sean Astin. Recently she co-starred in and produced the Netflix feature A merry Little Ex-Mas which will be coming out this December; that pic starring Alicia Silverstone as well as Hart.
As a director and producer, Hart’s credits include The Goldbergs, Schooled, The Big Show Show, Young Sheldon, Santa Bootcamp, and the iCarly reboot.
Hart continues to be managed by Gordon Gilbertson and attorney David Tenzer.
This signing is on the heels of vet lit agents Andy Patman, Martin Spencer and Martin To joining Innovative from A3 last year, as well as Margaret Mendelson, and lit agent Ian Greenstein moving over from Gersh earlier this year. Recent signings from Innovative include Taylor Polidore Williams, Brandee Evans, and Shanola Hampton, while lit signings include Debra Fisher, Peter Noah, Hugh Dillon & Christian Donovan, and Meg Deloatch.
The news is on the heels of the recently-announced strategic partnership with Coral Tree Partners, which assumed a minority stake in the agency in late March, putting Innovative on a greater growth path.
