TPG-backed Initial Group and Untitled Entertainment have hired former UTA Corporate Communications Manager Matt Leonard as Vice President, Corporate Communications.
In this new role, Matt will lead corporate communications initiatives for Initial Group and Untitled, based out of the Los Angeles office.
“Matt brings a strong track record in strategic communications that will be essential as we continue to grow,” said Initial Group CEO Michel Pratte. “I’m thrilled to have him on board, and I look forward to partnering with him to advance the voice and mission of both Initial Group and Untitled.”
Leonard brings over a decade of strategic PR and communications experience, most recently serving as Corporate Communications Manager at UTA. While at UTA, he managed external communications for the agency’s film and television divisions—elevating executive profiles, collaborating on client PR strategies, leading film market and acquisition announcements, and contributing to overall corporate messaging.
Before UTA, Leonard was Senior Communications Manager at Sundance Institute, overseeing the Festival Press Office and publicity for the Institute’s labs and artist programs. Before transitioning into entertainment, he began his career in fashion, working at Comme des Garçons and at the fashion PR agency PR Consulting, where he supported clients including Dover Street Market, Tiffany & Co., Saks Fifth Avenue, and Pitti Immagine, among others.
“We’re truly excited to welcome Matt to Untitled,” said the Untitled partners in a joint statement. “His passion for narrative development and strong relationships across the industry make him a valuable asset to our team. As our first Corporate Communications hire, he’ll play a pivotal role in elevating our voice and intentionally telling the story of Untitled’s growth and impact.”
Untitled Entertainment is a Hollywood talent management company with a 25-year track record of representing many of the entertainment industry’s most successful and celebrated talent, working across all areas of the industry, including film, TV, theater, fashion, digital media, and music. In 2024, TPG acquired a majority stake in Untitled through Initial Group, a TPG-backed global entertainment company that partners with visionary representatives and generational talent to shape culture and commerce. Initial Group, in partnership with Untitled, subsequently acquired the literary-management focused Grandview, merging the two companies under the Untitled banner.
“This is a moment of tremendous growth for Initial Group and Untitled,” said Leonard. “I’m thrilled to join the team and lead the development of our corporate communications strategy—fostering impactful relationships with media and brand partners, and amplifying the work of our executives, managers, and clients. I look forward to helping tell the story of where we are—and where we’re headed.”
