EXCLUSIVE: British filmmaker Alex Hardcastle has signed with Paradigm for representation.
Hardcastle recently made his feature directorial debut with the Netflix Original Senior Year, a high-concept comedy starring Rebel Wilson, which quickly became a global hit, topping Netflix charts in over 60 countries and earning a People’s Choice Award nomination for Best Comedy Film. Released in May 2022, the film centers on Stephanie Conway (Wilson), a 37-year-old woman who wakes up from a 20-year coma and decides to return to high school to finish her senior year and pursue her dream of becoming prom queen.
Hardcastle has also directed nearly 200 episodes of television, including standout episodes of acclaimed series such as The Office, Parks and Recreation, New Girl, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Grace and Frankie, The Mindy Project, and You’re the Worst. In the UK, he directed the beloved sitcom Not Going Out, which is the country’s second-longest-running multi-camera comedy.
Over the years, the filmmaker has worked with a diverse slate of top-tier talent including Wilson, Daniel Radcliffe, Jon Hamm, and Lily Tomlin. As he continues to expand into features and develop premium television projects, he is particularly focused on character-driven comedy and grounded, emotionally rich storytelling with global appeal.
