EXCLUSIVE: Mark Feuerstein (Power, Royal Pains) has joined the cast of Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole’s new Netflix series, Nemesis, in a recurring role.
He will not return as Steven Ott from the Power franchise, which Kemp created; instead, he will play Sam Morrow, a high-powered attorney and total shark willing to toe the ethical line in the name of protecting his clients. Steven and Sam may not be the same guy, but they certainly have some things in common.
Feuerstein is the second Power star to join Nemesis, following Shane Johnson’s casting in April. It’s as yet unknown if Johnson and Feuerstein may share any scenes.
Nemesis is the story of two men on either side of the law, the tale of what happens when an unstoppable force, expert criminal Coltrane Wilder (Y’lan Noel), meets an immovable object, brilliant police detective Isaiah Stiles (Matthew Law). What starts as a series that aims to subvert the heist genre at every turn — amped with thrilling life-or-death stakes, family dynamics, and explosive action- gives birth to an exploration of what drives us, sustains us, and ultimately destroys us.
In addition to Noel and Law, the series leads include Cleopatra Coleman, Tre Hale, Domenick Lombardozzi, Jonnie Park, Ariana Guerra, Gabrielle Dennis, Michael Potts, Sophina Brown, Jeff Pierre, and Cedric Joe. Johnson recurs alongside Moe Irvin, Stephanie Sigman, Quincy Isaiah, Jay Reeves, Mike O’Malley, Khalilah Jo, and Siua Ikale’o.
In her first project with Netflix, Kemp serves as showrunner on Nemesis, which she is executive producing with Marole, Chris Selak of Kemp’s End of Episode, and Philipp Barnett. Mario Van Peebles (Power Book III: Raising Kanan) will direct and executive produce Episodes 1 and 2.
As Deadline confirmed in April, Feuerstein is to reprise the role of Dr. Henry “Hank” Lawson and executive produce on a reboot of the USA Original Series Royal Pains, from Andrew Lenchewski and Michael Rauch, currently in development at NBC. He most recently starred in Chris Brancato’s Epix crime series Hotel Cocaine, starring opposite Danny Pino, Michael Chiklis, and Yul Vazquez. Additionally, he worked opposite Natalie Portman in the Apple limited series, The Lady in the Lake.
Feuerstein recurred in the ‘Power’ Universe, first on the flagship series and more recently in Power Book II: Ghost. Prior, he starred in the CBS series 9JKL, which he developed, as well as FX’s Better Things, opposite Pam Adlon. He was recently nominated for a Children’s and Family Emmy Award for his work on The Baby-Sitters Club, opposite Alicia Silverstone. Feuerstein is repped by UTA and Sugar 23.
