EXCLUSIVE: Project Runway Canada has rounded out their cast of experts, adding Spencer Badu as a judge and Aurora James as a mentor.
Badu and James will join previously announced host and judge Coco Rocha and fellow judge Jeanne Beker in Bell Media’s Crave reality series competition.
The announcement was made during Bell Media’s Upfront presentation. Badu is a Toronto-based designer known for his genderless streetwear designs. He has won multiple CAFA awards and has had his designs worn by Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky.
James is an author known for her memoir Wildflower. She is also the founder of accessories brand Brother Vellies, vice chair member of the CFDA, and founder of the non-profit Fifteen Percent Pledge, an organization that encourages retailers to pledge at least 15 percent of their shelf space to Black-owned businesses.

Production for the reality TV series is in collaboration with Fashion at The Creative School, Toronto Metropolitan University. Filming is set to begin this summer, and the series will debut on Crave later this year.
Project Runway Canada is based on the Fremantle format created by Eli Holzman in 2004 and owned by Spyglass Media Group. The reality competition was first adapted for Canadian audiences in 2007 and last aired in 2009 after two seasons.

Project Runway Canada’s revival comes after U.S. cable channel Freeform ordered Season 21 of the competition.
