EXCLUSIVE: UTA has inked actor, director, and writer Jake Allyn for representation in all areas.
The news follows Allyn completing principal photography on his upcoming true-life drama Clean Hands, which he wrote and directed, starring Zach Braff and Esther McGregor alongside Abigail Spencer, Holt McCallany, and Lucas Till.
Set in Hagerstown, Maryland—a Baltimore suburb situated along the notorious “Heroin Highway”—Clean Hands examines the American drug crisis through the story of a father and daughter on opposite sides of the law. The film is based on the true story of Kevin Simmers (Braff), a police officer turned recovery advocate, and his daughter Brooke (McGregor).
Clean Hands marks Allyn’s second feature behind the camera. He made his directorial debut with Ride, which he also wrote and starred in. The film, a poignant exploration of amateur rodeo and addiction in the Heartland, follows three generations of bull riders, and was notably filmed at live rodeos.
The project won Best Picture at both the Western Heritage Awards and the Dallas International Film Festival, joining the ranks of previously awarded projects from Kevin Costner, James Mangold, Walter Hill, and Taylor Sheridan. It was released theatrically by Well Go USA and currently streams exclusively on Paramount+.
Allyn recently starred as Morello on Season 2 of HBO’s Emmy-winning series The Last of Us, and recurs in the final season of CBS’s S.W.A.T.
He continues to be represented by Stride Management and Alana Kass at Polaris PR.
