Netflix is about to launch another game show, this one promising “strategy, suspense and jaw-dropping prizes.”
Neil Patrick Harris will host What’s In The Box, described as a “high stakes game show” where contestants participate in a “massive guessing game where every decision could lead to life-changing rewards.” It’s expected to launch in December.
Here’s the official logline for the first 6 episodes that each run 45 minutes: “Giant boxes conceal jaw-dropping prizes, wild surprises and unexpected reveals in What’s in the Box, a high-stakes arching game show that tests smarts, strategy and stamina. Over several episodes, pairs of contestants face off in fast-paced, addictive trivia rounds, racing to correctly guess what’s inside each box. But winning a prize is just the beginning. As the game unfolds, shifting alliances and unexpected twists mean only those with sharp instincts — and a little luck — will hold onto their winnings and claim victory.”
The game is from Rollercoaster TV, which is part of ITV Studios. Executive Producers are James Fox, Dom Waugh, Wes Kauble and Leanne Witcoop (Rollercoaster Television).
Netflix’s slate of game shows includes Star Search, Building the Band, The Golden Ticket, Squid Game: The Challenge, Million Dollar Secret, Battle Camp, Is it Cake? and The Circle, among others.
