In December, Squid Game became the only Netflix series to ever make it on the Most Popular list in its debut week with the release of Season 2. And now, it’s just done it again with Season 3.
The highly anticipated conclusion drew 60.1M views in just three days on the platform, setting multiple records for Netflix. Deadline broke down Squid Game‘s massive success with some exclusive insights about the global campaign that helped drive the behemoth viewership. Read that here.
On that note, Squid Game Seasons 1 and 2 saw their own renaissance thanks to the final season, landing on the weekly non-English TV Top 10 list. Season 2 made it to No. 3 with 2.8M views, while Season 1 was at No. 6 with 1.7M views.
In English TV, The Waterfront stayed atop the weekly chart with 11.6M views from June 23 to 29. That’s a pretty strong lift compared to the prior interval, when it debuted to 8.3M views.
Ginny & Georgia took up three spots on the English TV list with Season 3 hanging on to second place thanks to another 4.8M views. Season 2 came in at No. 8 with 1.9M views, and Season 1 was at No. 10 1.8M million views.
In third place was America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders with 2.8M views, and UK crime thriller Dept. Q maintained a spot on the list at No. 5 with 2.6M views.
On the film side of things, KPop Demon Hunters claimed No. 1 on the English Film list with an impressive 24.2M views in its second week on Netflix. In a close second was Trainwreck: Poop Cruise, which managed 21.1M views. Tyler Perry’s thriller Straw dropped to third place with 7.9M views.
