Gaspard de Chavagnac, the co-founder of Asacha Media Group, is stepping down following Fremantle‘s acquisition of Asacha.
He has stepped down as CEO to focus on new media investment projects but will remain a shareholder of Mintee Productions, which he founded in 2017.
Asacha launched in 2020 and owns eight labels including Death in Paradise indie Red Planet Pictures and France’s Srab Films.
De Chavagnac said: “I am very proud that, in just four years, my partners and I have built the third largest independent player in the European film and audiovisual production market. The development of Asacha Media Group has been a tremendous human, creative and industrial adventure, and an immense entrepreneurial success.”
Fremantle bought the company last year for €200M ($216M), a figure that included its purchase of 80% of Singapore’s Beach House Pictures.
