EXCLUSIVE: Lee Cronin’s The Mummy has cast Hayat Kamille in the Atomic Monster/Blumhouse production for New Line with Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group.
The Wild Cherry and Vikings: Valhalla actress joins the already set cast of Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, Shylo Molina, Billie Roy, Veronica Falcon, and May Elghety.
The story is under wraps, no pun intended as it’s a movie about a Mummy. The movie will hit theaters on April 17, 2026.
Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is produced by James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville with director Cronin also serving as executive producer under his Doppelgängers banner. Michael Clear and Judson Scott are also executive producers.
Hayat recently shot the series regular role of Maryam in Nicôle Lecky’s Wild Cherry for BBC One.
She currently stars as one of the series regular roles Mariam in the latest series of Vikings: Valhalla, created by Jeb Stuart for Netflix.
Her feature credits include Kenneth Branagh’s Death On The Nile and Murder On The Orient Express for Twentieth Century Fox and Mosul produced by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo for AGBO/Netflix.
Her theatre credits include playing one of the leading roles in Bagdaddy at the Royal Court, directed by Milli Bhatia.
The actress is represented by Waring McKenna.
Upcoming movies for Blumhouse include The Black Phone 2 on Oct. 17, Five Nights at Freddy‘s 2 on Dec. 5, and Soulm8te on Jan. 9. Last year’s Blumhouse title, Speak No Evil, starring James McAvoy was one of the most profitable horror films netting $50M off a global box office of $76.8M and net production cost of $15M.
