Will MomTok be able to survive awards season?
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has scored its first Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program category.
The Hulu reality series produced by Jeff Jenkins Productions in association with 3BMG and Walt Disney Television Alternative is competing in the category with America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (Netflix), Love on the Spectrum (Netflix), RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked (MTV), and Welcome to Wrexham (FX on Hulu).
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives follows a group of Mormon mom influencers behind the #MomTok hashtag. The group gained notoriety following a swinging sex scandal that shook them to their core, testing their loyalties and friendships.
Taylor Frankie Paul, Demi Engemann, Jennifer Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Mathews, and Whitney Leavitt star on the show.
The first season, which premiered with all eight episodes in 2024, was the most-watched unscripted season premiere on Hulu that year. Nielsen reported that the series is in its Top 10 originals for the week of Sept. 2-8, 2024, ranking No. 7 among streaming originals.
Hulu renewed The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives for a second season of 20 episodes, which premiered in 2025, drawing 5M views in its first five days of streaming globally on Disney+ and Hulu.
The first season of the reality series also aired on ABC earlier this year.
