Montclair Film, New Jersey’s leading film non-profit, has named Tricia Haggerty Wenz as Executive Director effective September 2.
The organization is home to the growing Montclair Film Festival, multi-screen cinemas The Clairidge and The Bellevue and year-round community events and educational programs. The festival’s 14th edition is set for October 17-26.
Prior to joining Montclair Film, Haggerty Wenz served as the Director of Development for Real Art Ways in Hartford, Connecticut, where she worked for eight years leading fundraising efforts and first building acquisition and expansion project. Previously, she founded and ran nonprofit Safe Harbors of the Hudson in Newburgh, NY where she led a multimillion dollar development project that included the renovation of a historic building, the creation of Newburgh’s first contemporary arts gallery, the restoration of the historic Ritz Theater and live arts programming while providing affordable housing for 128 adults.
Led by Montclair Film Trustee and Executive Committee member Sarah Barrack, Montclair Film enlisted Tom O’Connor Consulting Group to oversee a comprehensive executive search process. Haggerty Wenz received unanimous support.
“I am so honored and excited to be joining the dedicated team at Montclair Film during this pivotal moment in its history,” she said. “I look forward to collaborating with the board, staff, and community to build on Montclair Film’s extraordinary legacy and to contribute to its future growth, expanding its impact as a leader in film, storytelling, and community engagement.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Tricia to Montclair Film” said Montclair Film Board President Evelyn Colbert. “Tricia’s passion for our mission and her deep experience in non-profit leadership will be critical assets for our organization’s growth and development. I can’t wait to collaborate with her as we continue to build upon Montclair Film’s commitment to the transformational power of cinema.”
