According to reports, Manchester United have made a “transfer decision” about signing Chelsea forward Nicholas Jackson, who was given two reasons for the verdict.
After Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scored seven Premier League goals in 2024/25, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are screaming for new strikers.
However, Man UTD has already missed out on Liam Delap and Viktor Gyoker, despite not losing his European qualification before next season.
These disappointments force United to turn to potential alternatives, with Jackson being mentioned as an option. It is claimed that if they are staying at Stamford Bridge, they are likely to have left behind Joan Pedro and Liam Dellup.
A report from a football insider claims that Chelsea wants Jackson as well as £80 million this summer. Former Premier League chief Mick Brown said the striker’s “temperament” and United’s ability to acquire “better players for money” are two reasons for this potential signature “transfer decision.”
“No, I don’t think that’s going to happen,” Brown told Football Insider.

“I’m very surprised when Man United signed Jackson. I have concerns about his temperament and the mental aspects of his game, and I don’t think he’s consistent on enough pitch to overturn those concerns.
“If Chelsea are trying to get rid of him, it tells us if he’s enough for United.
“I don’t think he’s the type of striker they need, and they’ll see their other options, especially when you consider the price it will cost to drive him out of Chelsea.
“I think he has a long contract like all of his teammates, so they can’t make him cheap and definitely not at Man United.
“There are better players they can bring in because of the money they need to get him. He’s not doing anything to make him the ideal guy for United at Chelsea.”

Former Premier League winger Jermaine pennant also claims Man UTD must watch past Jackson, who fits the move towards Brighton.
“I don’t know if Nicholas Jackson is the first team guy like I saw while at Chelsea. If he leaves the club, it’s interesting to see where he’s going. He’s in Darwin Nunes’ bracket for me.
“If I were him, I’d be a little below that level – I see someone like Brighton. He does well there, so I think it works – they should be watching him.
“Manchester United are linked, but I’m not very sure if that’s the right move for the club. That could be another Rasmus Hozilund situation. He clearly believes himself and thinks he should be in the top team, but I don’t know that he’s number one in the top six.”
