Reports suggest that Manchester United have decided to make a “U-turn” with a “crazy” sale for one Red Devils star who is “happy” to stay at the club.
Most of Man UTD’s teams are linked with Exguchi after the Premier League Giants endured a disastrous season in 2024/25, finishing 15th in the Premier League and failing to win the trophy.
Academy product Kobbie Mainoo is one of those related to the summer departure that was open to sanctioning his exit as the Red Devils considered pure profit sales in January to balance the book.
Mainoo struggled with the 2024/25 campaign that affected the injury after the sensational breakout season of 2023/24, attracting interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Earlier this month, the report claims that Spurs has signed Mainoo and stayed in touch with Man UTD, but it seems unlikely he will leave the club as a boy.
After opening the door to his exit in the winter window, reports from football insiders say Man Utd claimed he made a “transfer U-turn” to the central midfielder, with former Premier League chief Mick Brown considering “letting go of him” being “crazy.”
“There are a lot of players that Man United wants to remove,” Brown told Football Insider.

“From what I understand, Kobbie Mainoo is not one of them after a change of heart.
“The things like Garnacho, Sancho and others that have been removed from preseason training are people the club is trying to raise money.
“In my opinion, they should never consider letting go of Kobbie Mainoo. That was a crazy idea.
“After he didn’t sign that new contract, it seemed he had decided he wanted to leave. The interest didn’t come as much as they expected, but I’m not going to complain about it.
“From what I’ve heard, he’ll be happy to stay in the new season and hopes he’ll become a bigger part of the team as Amorim uses him more regularly.”

However, the future at Rasmus Hojlund’s Man Utd is not certain. It has been suggested that Benjamin Sesco’s signature could inspire his exit, and journalist Graeme Berry provided a clear update on his position at the club.
“Rasmus Hozilund knows he’s not wanted by Man United as his first choice. He knows he’s been talking to strikers all summer. Don’t forget he tried out Liam Dellup in early July. Now it’s Benjamin Sesco.”
“United hasn’t said directly that he can leave, and vice versa, and Hozilund doesn’t require him to leave.
“If Sesco or another new number 9 arrives, Hozilund could leave.”
