According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United “has recently conducted an investigation” about Newcastle United striker Alexander Isaac, who was linked to Liverpool.
Liverpool has failed to make a £110 million opening offer for ISAK and has reportedly not returned with improved offers due to Newcastle’s quick and strong response.
Magpies don’t want to sell Swedes, but the transaction is thought to be possible for £150 million.
Isaac is doing everything he can to ensure his move to Anfield. He has not trained in the northeast after being left on the club’s preseason Asian tour and is currently using the facility at his old club, Real Sociedad.
Despite his desire to leave and recent actions, Newcastle hopes to reintegrate players and sign new contracts.
ISAK never wavered to another Premier League team and revealed that Liverpool is his dream destination. The Reds are willing to spend more than £100 million on him, despite recently adding Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz for a total of £169 million.
Interestingly, Man United conducted a survey this week and reported that they were “denied.”
This says Isak is optimistic about joining Liverpool this summer, agreeing to a six-year deal.
Plettenberg wrote in X:
“Even Manchester United have done some recent investigations, but Isaac refused. He only wants the #LFC.
“Player camp remains optimistic that it will be able to reach this transfer window after a £120 million bid is denied by #NUFC. ISAK’s agreement with the LFC by 2031 is 100% complete.
Ben Jacobs initially defeated the news that Liverpool wouldn’t make his second offer to ISAK on Friday afternoon, and forwarding journalists have provided several more updates since explaining what they could see the Reds return to the negotiation table.
Report on X, Jacobs explained the state of play.
– Liverpool says a second bid is not planned, as revealed.
– The bid was fixed at £110 million and there were no add-ons.
– Personal terms in ISAK are not an issue.
– Liverpool bid optimistic this morning, but Newcastle’s response was very quick and powerful.
– The key is ISAK’s response. Newcastle hopes he is ready to reintegrate and offer him a new contract, and is likely equipped with the ability to leave next summer.
– If ISAK continues to double and drive the move, and Newcastle finds a striker alternative, Liverpool can revisit their stance, but only if #NUFC contacts them to provide encouragement. Liverpool will not bid again unless Newcastle indicates that it will discuss sales.
