James van der Beek has become openly about working on his cancer journey.
The Dawson Creek star shared how Elle, who is working on the legally blonde prequel series, helped him find peace when fighting stage 3 colorectal cancer.
“The biggest thing about the job is that there is no cancer between action and cut,” James said today in an interview published July 30th.
So being on set doesn’t feel like a 48 year old job. Instead, James thinks about living with cancer. He was diagnosed in 2023 and published in 2024 with “Full-Time Job.”
And this change of mindset is something that we share with Varsity Blues alums – children Olivia, 14, 13, Annabelle, 11, Emilia, 9, 7, Jeremiah, three and his wife Kimberly.
“I’m just traveling,” he shared. “It’s a process. It’s probably going to be the process for the rest of my life.”
