Brett Michaels detailed the thorns protruding from his rosy career.
In an Instagram post in June 2025, Poison Frontman explained how living with type 1 diabetes affects tour schedules after the scary health.
“Unfortunately, I was six at times so the highs and lows I live with diabetes are just kicking my ass,” Michaels wrote. “Last night I went to the stage and added a song or two to the set to prove that I could do it for myself and my fans. Finally, my blood sugar level walking off the stage was 39 real life.”
For each CDC, 70 mg/dL is considered hypoglycemia in people with T1D, and severe hypoglycemia begins at 54 mg/dL.
“I swear in the near future, I’ll need that time,” he told fans. “And please forgive me if I have to move some of the shows until I control this.
That’s not to say Michaels hasn’t taken many precautions along his decades-long career.
“I wake up and the first thing I do is check a constant glucose monitor,” Michaels told people in 2024.
He said, “Then I jump into the fun and business of the day and try to take it that way every day.”
