Elon Musk’s AI company has officially rolled out Xai’s image and video generator Grok Imagine to all SuperGrok and Premium+ X subscribers in the iOS app. Formation of Musk, positioning Grok as an unfiltered boundary pushing AI, allows users to create NSFW content.
Promising to turn text or image prompts into a 15-second video featuring native audio, Grok Imagine features a “spicy mode” that allows users to generate sexually explicit content, including partial female nudes. There are limitations to how explicit people can get. Many of our spicy prompts – made in the name of journalism! – “Moderate” and thus produces blurry images that are inaccessible. However, we were able to generate semi-nude images.
NSFW content isn’t surprising to Xai considering the release of sexualized anime AI companions like the nunch bullet last month. But just as Grok’s unrestrained nature was fun until he began to spit out hatred-filled anti-Semitic, misogynistic content, Grok may be ready to bring about his own unintended consequences.
CNBC first reported the existence of “spicy mode” last week after Xai employee Mati Roy said in X’s now-deleted post.

The existing limitations of Grok Imagine are somewhat encouraging considering the model will create celebrities (anyone from Donald Trump to Taylor Swift). For example, TechCrunch attempted to generate images of playing cards during pregnancy. Imagine only images that generate a card or a pregnant woman holding a baby.
It’s still early days for Grok Imagine, which aims to compete with incumbents such as Google Deepmind, Openai, Runway and Chinese rivals, but human images and videos are still a bit lost in the creepy valley, with skin sometimes covered in cartoonishness.

Still, the generator is impressive. It generates images in seconds from the text prompt and continues to auto-generate new images as you scroll. These images can be animated into stylized videos. The user interface is also seamless and intuitive.
The mask is X and the model said “gets better every day.”
