Google’s AI Note Taker app is open to younger users, previously only available to users over the age of 18. Tech Giant has announced that NoteBookLM is available on Google Workspace.
The removal of age restrictions aims to provide younger students with access to AI research tools, ensuring they have a better understanding of class materials. Currently, students have access to features such as visually summarizing ideas using interactive mind maps, such as the ability to convert notes into audio overviews like podcasts. NoteBookLM recently released a video overview that allows users to convert notes, PDFs and images into visual presentations.
This expansion comes amid growing concerns about the use of AI in education regarding data privacy and potential misuse. Google has not reviewed or used for AI training by humans because NoteBookLM enforces a stricter content policy for users under the age of 18 to prevent inappropriate responses.
The availability of NoteBookLM for younger users shows that OpenAI is continuing to introduce ChatGPT learning mode, and companies are increasing competition in the AI education sector.
