Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund has now “resigned” to the exit from Old Trafford, and the Red Devils have “just” make the same mistake as Benjamin Sesco.
According to Athletic’s David Ornstein, RB Leipzig striker appears to snub Newcastle for Mann UTD this summer.
“Newcastle initially added €5 million plus €75 million, raising it to at least €80 million on Monday. Within 24 hours, Manchester United made their own proposals worth €75 million and €10 million.
“Newcastle continues to work to secure a transfer, and on Tuesday a bid of 82.5 million euros and 2.5 million euros were accepted by Leipzig. However, Sesco wants to join Manchester United, and all political parties are aware of that now. There is no club agreement yet, but the situation is moving in that direction.”
The push for United to sign a new No. 9 will make Hozilund’s future a questionable one at the club, and the club’s boss is said to be more than open to his sales.
After scoring in his preseason victory at Bournemouth last week, Hozilund said: “I think the most important thing for me is just to keep working hard and staying focused.
“I think my plan is very clear. It’s about staying for my spot and fighting no matter what happens. I’m still very young. I think people forget that.
“Obviously not every striker scores 100 goals at age 22 (like Erling Haaland). But I’ve learned a lot and I think you can see it in my game.
“It’s almost for me that I sharpen myself right now and I’ve done very well in the preseason so far, and I’m focused on continuing that.”
But now, according to Manchester Evening News, he “resigned to be kicked out by Manchester United if Benjamin Sesco completes his move to Old Trafford.”
It will be added to the report:
“Sources close to Danish International have confirmed that Hojlund can be unlocked if it is not needed, but ultimately they will have to ask for a move before the September 1 transfer deadline.”

Former Red Devils assistant Rene Meulensteen believes his former side should have pushed him to sign Ollie Watkins instead.
Meulensteen said: “Manchester United’s bid for Benjamin Sesco is basically what they did with Rasmus Hozilund. If he scores in the first three or four games and runs, he could be the club’s answer, but it could not happen.
“If you look at Hojlund, he joined Atalanta, played well with the rest of the team, then joined United. The same can be said about Sesko. The Bundesliga is a completely different league from the Premier League.
Meulensteen added: “I’m looking at people like Ollie Watkins available. He’s a hardworking player with similar features as Sesko, except that he already has valuable Premier League experience.
“Why don’t the club bring Watkins in and let the coach work closely with Hodglund to develop him? That’s a waste of investment on him. They pay him nearly £80 million and are at risk of selling him for less than half of that unless he develops.”
