Deadline is launching a spinoff of its flagship FYC event Contenders Television.
HBO Max has partnered with Deadline to spotlight a season of Emmy excellence with the first-ever Deadline Contenders @ HBO Max event. It comes after the platform scored 142 Emmy nominations – the most of any network or streamer this year and the most HBO/HBO Max has ever received.
The all-day showcase set for Sunday, August 17 in Hollywood will feature talent and behind-the-scenes stars from shows including Dune: Prophecy, Fantasmas, Hacks, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, Pee-wee as Himself, The Penguin, The Pitt, The Righteous Gemstones, Somebody Somewhere and The White Lotus.
The panel conversations will include actors, casting directors, cinematographers, composers, costume designers, directors, editors, hair stylists, makeup artists, producers, production designers, prosthetics designers, visual effects producers, and writers.
The event will also include immersive activations designed to showcase every facet of the production process, from costume displays, interactive sound mixing and editing exhibits to a script wall featuring pivotal scenes and an interactive room.
With a spotlight on creative collaboration, innovation, and cultural impact, HBO Max’s Emmy celebration is designed to engage voters with the storytelling, performances and process behind many of this year’s most nominated titles.
