1. Based on Mary Rogers’ 1972 novel of the same name, 2003’s Strange Friday is the second remake of the same story. The first film adaptation was released in 1976, but in 1995 it was followed by a take made for television.
2. Film producer Andrew Gunn reached out to Jodie Foster, who played Annabelle in the 1976 film. Foster told the opportunity as she was worried that her casting would be distracting.
3. Annette Benning was cast to play Tess Coleman, but dropped out six days before filming began.
4. After confronting fame as the former Scream Queen, Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis thought her top-notch woman was behind her when she approached Director Mark Waters to replace Behning.
“I was 44 years old by the interviewer, a bit chubby, my hair was grey and I refused to dye. I was happy with my life,” Curtis told the Telegraph in 2003.
