Liverpool has reportedly decided to “speed up” Tottenham Hotspur’s target Giovanni Leoni.
The Reds have been extremely busy this summer, spending more than any other club in the world.
Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike are one of seven additional summers, with the former participating in the club’s record £100 million fee.
Arne Slot’s side is also interested in Alexander Isak, a £150 million Newcastle United striker.
Signing a new centre-back has been a priority for Liverpool all summer, and they are currently trapped in two signatures.
Details: Isaac will only be “scam”, “mercians”, “professionals” if he strikes to leave Liverpool.
According to Italian journalist Orazio Accomando, Liverpool’s “first investigation” about Parma teenager Leoni was “early July,” with the Premier League champions hoping to steal the transfer rival’s march after “speeding up in the final hours.”
They did so to “avoid a bid war where Parma could raise prices even further.”
Acommand claims Tottenham, AC Milan and Inter are also monitoring the 18-year-old Italian.
Milan is “pleasant” to meet Parma’s asking price. The figures have not been revealed in the X-Post, but Leoni’s Transfermarkt Value is £15.5 million.
Leoni joined Parma from Sampdoria in August last year and extended his contract to 2029 in February.
He is one of the most highly regarded Italian youths and can also play right back.
News of Liverpool’s interest came into view in reports that the Reds have strengthened their interest in Crystal Palace Captain Mark Guech.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Guehi has “accepted personal terms” with Guehi, and Leoni is “eager to travel.”
Guehi and Leoni emphasize that they are not alternatives to each other as the Reds target both signatures before the September 1 transfer deadline.
Guehi’s contract expires at the end of the season and the palace resigns to lose him.
Eagles Chairman Steve Parish admits he doesn’t want to lose anything England International as he suggests towards the exit in the last week of the window.
“Of course we have to do that (cash). Unfortunately, that’s a problem for us to leave that caliber player free.
“Joachim (Andersen) went (to Fulham last summer) and couldn’t afford to lose both.
“Then we had another bid in January (for Guehi) but that was a different situation.
“We need to see what happens, but you know, it needs a new contract or some kind of conclusion.
“Unless people are here or not, if that’s the right decision for the club and for them, then no one will go to anyone — then there are some changes, but we have to make something smart.”
