Drake Bell is taking steps to formally end his estranged marriage.
The Drake & Josh alumni filed for divorce from his wife, Janet von Schmeling, in Seminole County, Florida, on August 14, two years after filing his divorce petition in Los Angeles Superior Court.
In fact, Janet took the first step in April 2023 to end the four-year marriage, listing the reasons for the September 2022 separation as an irreconcilable difference. And at the time, court documents said she was seeking primary legal and physical custody and spousal support for her 4-year-old son Wyatt.
However, since then, the former Nickelodeon star has shared insights into his appearance-friendly co-parent relationship with Janet. In fact, he gushed out last month about how much they love each other.
“I don’t care if I’m angry with my ex-wife,” Drake said during his recent appearance on an unplanned podcast with Matt and Abby. “All my son knows is that me and his mom love each other.”
