And while Humphreys admits that “most people always see me as that f****** guy on TV,” he expressed his hope that they still remember their contributions to the game.
“That’s everything I’ve ever wanted to be known,” he added. “Even now, I’m away from the game, so I’m trying to stay under the radar and tackle a new phase of my life.”
This new phase included admission to another professional arena. In a 2019 essay, Humphries shared, “We are about to open seven vibrant green restaurants in the Midwest,” and “We have already opened a franchise and count of 10 five guys.” The athlete also opened several Dave’s hot chicken shops in his hometown of Minnesota with his family.
When he’s not working, Humphreys enjoys traveling and spending time with his loved ones (his Instagram features photos of his boats in East Hampton, New York, Miami, Florida, Malibu, California, and Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota).
He also found a new sport he loves: Pickleball.
“During Covid, it seemed like people were looking for something to do,” Humphries explained to Pickle Boultob in November 2024. That’s a wiffle ball. ”
And although the circumstances of his relationship are unknown, it is clear that his two puppies, Ricardo and Rocky, have his heart.
