Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink explained that the new Manchester City has signed Tijjani Rejnders with “Diamond” and predicted that he would score more goals than the club’s legend Kevin de Bruyne.
De Bruin’s departure in the summer may have raised some concerns about whether the city’s midfield was creative enough, but Reyjunders’ one goal and one assist quickly eased those concerns.
The Dutch have struggled to replicate the Belgian assist, but are still being supported to defeat De Bruin in the goal division.
“He’s not going to get as many assists as De Bruyne,” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports News.
“I think he’ll be more available and he’ll get more goals than De Bruyne, but supportively, I don’t think there’s that much.
“But the boy could play, and there he found a diamond.”

City signed the Dutch after an impressive spell with Milan, but it was his defensive work that got him attention, as he only contributed 28 goals to his time at San Siro
Pep Guardiola, naturally, suggests that the 27-year-old will play a key defensive role “in the coming years.”
“Really good,” Guardiola said after the city’s 4-0 victory. “A lovely guy and he’s been an influence from day one. His pace, he can help with the holding midfield.
“He can run in pockets and spaces that defenders may also allow them to create.
“In Milan, he was exceptional and with the national team. I knew he was the top signature for the next few years of the city.”
Hasselbain issued a statement when the title favourite was this season and discussed while others were plump for Liverpool.
“Manchester City is my favorite of the year to win the title,” said the 53-year-old.
“Everyone talks about Liverpool, so I think it’s very close, but Manchester City is a team for me.”
However, Guardiola is not too enthusiastic about declaring his team’s title favorites, reminding everyone that last season started just to break out dramatically.
“The start is good, but it was just last season,” Guardiola said. “Last season we played Chelsea 2-0 and we’re seeing what happened later.”
“Last season we started with hunger and energy,” he added. “We’re only looking at the first game. So many points are still playing.”
