Saturday Night Live’s current and former stars have form when it comes to launching podcasts.
Amy Poehler recently launched Good Hang, Bowen Yang has Las Culturistas, Devon Walker has My Favorite Lyrics and Dana Carvey and David Spade have had success with Fly on the Wall.
Now, add Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett into the mix.
The pair have teamed up again to launch What’s Our Podcast?, a series that will put the emphasis on their guests to figure out what the hell they’re talking about.
“We don’t know what our podcast is about,” said Beck Bennett. “I wonder if somebody could help us,” added Mooney. “Maybe our guests can, they’ll come on our podcast and give us an idea about what our podcast should be about,” replied Bennett.
The series will launch on August 27 with two episodes followed by episodes weekly. It comes from Headgum, which is behind Allison Williams’ Landlines, Rachel Bilson’s Broad Ideas and Confronting Demons with Megan Stalter.
Guests will include Marc Maron, Jack Black, Brittany Broski, Kate Berlant, Skyler Gisondo, Bobby Moynihan, Meg Stalter, Tim Baltz, Fran Gillespie, Claudia O’Doherty, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Sam Fragoso, Matt Rogers, Tim Heidecker and Dender.
Mooney and Bennett obviously worked together for many years on SNL; Mooney was on the show between 2013 and 2022, and Bennett was on between 2013 and 2021. The pair also worked together before that in improv groups Commedus Interruptus and Good Neighbor.
