EXCLUSIVE: It’s turning into a big month for reality breakout star Toni Laites.
Having been crowned winner of ITV’s Love Island Season 12, she has now been signed to YMU. The British agency will focus on building her brand in the entertainment, advocacy, fashion and media spheres.
Laites, a Connecticut native, entered the Love Island villa as this season’s first bombshell, and became a fan favorite thanks to her no-nonsense attitude. She went on to win the show alongside Cach Mercer. Prior to Love Island, she worked as a pool cabana server at one of Las Vegas’ top luxury hotels.
Laites has had a lifelong battle with ulcerative colitis, and shared the story through a self-produced documentary and she will work with YMU to create purpose-driven content and reshape public perceptions of Love Island stars. YMU will position her, through health advocacy and fashion collabs, as an authenticity-driven influencer.
“Toni immediately stood out to us as something very different,” said YMU’s Managing Director of Global Entertainment, Lucy Loveridge. “She has a natural confidence and a genuine ability to connect with audiences that feels both authentic and exciting. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the roster and support her as she builds a long-term career beyond the show.”
Last week, we were first to report that YMU had signed Megan McKenna and Joe Baggs signing for representation, and in July, that the Permira Credit-owned agency, which represents the likes of Simon Cowell and Graham Norton, had signed another UK TV personality, Spencer Matthews.
