EXCLUSIVE: Actor Aggy K Adams, best known for her breakout role in The Couple Next Door, has signed on to star in Deepest Darkest, a British folk horror feature from writer-director Florence Kosky.
Adams leads the cast as Marianne, a heartbroken, struggling young painter who escapes to the countryside with her best friends — Lila (Nell Williams, A24’s Huntington) and Betty (Jessamine-Bliss Bell, Bodies) — for what should be a healing retreat. But when a dormant presence beneath the earth begins to stir, it unearths more than just old wounds, threatening to consume them all. Alicia Davis (Two Neighbours) appears in a supporting role.
Kosky co-wrote the screenplay with Justina Law. The film is produced by Guy Davies of Zebrafish Media (Inland, As I Am) and Knoll Pictures, with principal photography starting this September in the UK.
Kosky’s previous work includes shorts like All The World’s A Stage, which is narrated by Olivia Colman. Kosky also directed the short A Bit Of Fun, which was acquired by Arrow and Neither Seen Nor Heard.
Adams’s credits also include Netflix’s The Witcher. She is repped by Accelerate Management, MGMT Entertainment, and CLD Communications. Williams is repped by Curtis Brown, and Davis by Chapter Mgmt.
