Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapy is on his way to London to complete medical care at Arsenal on Sunday, according to Athletic David Ornstein.
Gunners have already made seven signatures than the summer transfer window to give Mikel Arteta the tools to finish three seasons and ultimately win the Premier League.
Arsenal signed Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Alizabaraga, Christian Norgado, Noni Madueke, Christian Mosquera, Victor Gyoker and Ebebeki Eze this summer, but they are not completely complete.
On the way to Porto with Jakub Kiwior’s reported 27 million euro worth of deal, Arsenal is trying to close the gap by bringing Hincapie from Lebakusen to enhance its defense.
Ecuador International can play as athletic Ornstein and left or centre-back. He “is traveling to London, but still waiting for permission to get medical care.”
Earlier in the week, Ornstein revealed that Arsenal has agreed to a total package of 52 million euros, plus a 10% Sell-On clause. Personal terms are in place for the 23-year-old to sign a five-year contract with Arsenal next summer.
The journalist added that Hincapy liked to join Arsenal and informed the Bundesliga club of his desire to leave the club. The signature relied on Arsenal’s mobile players before the summer transfer window closed.
Gabriel Martinelli is one of the players linked to travel from Arsenal, where gunners significantly strengthen their attacking area over the summer.

However, Arsenal boss Arteta confirmed that Brazil International will remain at Emirates Stadium and will not move at the end of the transfer period.
When asked if Martinelli could move on, Arteta told reporters:
“Then, at that moment, the way those players are impacting the game – that competition is needed. We are in many other areas of the pitch, and we need to start the game and finish the game, especially at the forefront.
Noni Madueke will need England International, who has been injured early in the season on Bukayo Saka’s absence right flank.
