EXCLUSIVE: Joe Freeman, breakout star of MGM+’s Stephen King adaptation The Institute, has landed UK representation.
Freeman has signed to Conway van Gelder Grant (CVGG) in the UK, where he will be represented by David Lazenby and John Grant. He continues to be repped by Lena Roklin at Luber Roklin in the U.S.
Freeman’s big break just came in The Institute for MGM+, which was recommissioned for a second season last month.
In the series, Freeman plays protagonist Luke Ellis, who is kidnapped and awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. He stars opposite Ben Barnes, Simone Miller and Fionn Laird, and the show is written by Benjamin Cavell and directed by Jack Bender. “Set free but hunted, new dangers await the escapees from the Institute and I can’t wait,” said King upon the announcement of the second series two weeks back.
Freeman has also appeared in BBC drama series Doctors. He is now repped in the UK by the London-based agency that reps the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Jonathan Bailey, Helena Bonham Carter and Bella Ramsey.
