JERUSALEM (AP) – Emergency services say at least five people have been killed in a shooting attack in Jerusalem after two attackers fired at a bus stop at a busy intersection in North Jerusalem.
Emergency workers said 15 more people were injured, including six in serious condition.
Police reported that the attackers shot people waiting at the bus stop, but Israeli media reported that the attackers also got on the bus and fired inside.
Security guards and civilians shot the attackers shortly after the incident began to halt the attack. Police did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the attacker’s status or identity.
The shooting took place at a large intersection at the northern entrance of Jerusalem, on a road leading to a Jewish settlement in East Jerusalem.
Footage of the attack showed dozens of people fled from the bus stop at a busy intersection during morning rush hour. Paramedics responding to the scene said the area was confusing and covered in broken glass.
There were no immediate comments on the attacks from Palestinian extremist groups.

Israel has had attacks scattered over the past few months, but the last deadly mass-fire attack was in October 2024. Two Palestinians on the West Bank opened fire at major highways and light rail stations in the Tel Aviv region, killing seven people and injuring many others. Hamas military building claimed responsibility for the attack.
Police say the two men fired fire in the Jaffa district of Tel Aviv. This involves shooting directly into a busy, light rail carriage with passengers stopped at the station.
Data from the UN Humanitarian Bureau says at least 49 Israelis were killed by Israeli or Palestinians in the West Bank between the start of the war and the July 2025.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces and civilians killed at least 968 Palestinians in Israel and the West Bank.
