The disclosure of the letter occurs in a bipartisan push in Congress for the release of the so-called Epstein Files, amid years of speculation and conspiracy theory. The call for the release of the records came from Republicans, including Vice President J.D. Vance.
Epstein, a wealthy, connected investor, committed suicide in a Manhattan prison while awaiting trial in 2019 on charges of trafficking dozens of minor girls.
