Manchester United reportedly “set their sights” on their Premier League managers to replace head coach Reuben Amorim, in order to risk making the same mistake.
Amorim is at a serious risk of losing his job amid the poor start of his 2025/26 campaign.
Man UTD is deep in the lower half of the Premier League after four games.
With Amorim’s favorite 3-4-3 system not working, United’s struggle last season took over to this campaign, with few signs of improvement. Now, the 40-year-old is his second favorite to become the next Premier League manager.
Recent reports show that Man UTD’s team is beginning to lose faith in Amorim, and the Manchester Evening News claims they are “frustrated” after last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

“United teams are claimed to be bright about their season’s success prospects following the harmonious preseason tour of the United States,” but as Man City Games is considered a “missed opportunity,” it is claimed that “players are interested in how quickly the mood has changed.”
Man UTD has already linked to several potential alternatives, with soccer insiders reporting that they “set the sights” to Crystal Palace boss Oliver Grasner.
It should be noted that his contract status at Crystal Palace has increased interest in his availability and increased uncertainty about his future in South London.
With this potential appointment, Man UTD risked making the same mistake as Amorim. Each manager uses three defenses, and the team has proven inappropriate for this style.

Nevertheless, former Premier League chief Mick Brown “remains very well connected in the game” explained why he thinks Glasner will be an “interesting” option for Mann UTD.
“If Man United decides to say goodbye to Reuben Amorim, I think they’ll be looking for the perfect guy for their job,” Brown told Football Insider.
“Whether you’re already in the Premier League or someone you manage elsewhere, they’ll look at the market and see who’s available.
“Manchester United’s work is still attractive, regardless of the current situation, because they are a huge club with big fans.
“And obviously there was financial support for the managers and in the transfer market, which has always been an attractive outlook for managers.
“If they decide to go for someone in the Premier League, there are a few options that they can come and run to the ground.
“Glasner is interested in the final year of his contract at Crystal Palace, and there is no progress in the meeting there and it appears that his situation will be next summer.
“But now, look for United, they’re still completely behind Reuben Amorim and they hope he can turn things around.”
