Stellantis, the giant that makes cars behind Chrysler, Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and other brands, has confirmed a data breaches that include customer personal information.
In a statement released Sunday, Stellantis said it had experienced a violation of “a platform of third-party service providers that support customer service operations in North America.”
The statement said “contact information” was taken, but Stellantis spokesman Kaileneen Connelly refused to answer TechCrunch’s questions about what kind of customer data was taken in the violation. A Stellantis spokesman also declined to say how many customers have notified that the information has been retrieved.
Bleaping Computer reports that Stellantis’ data breach is linked to a hack in the Salesforce database, citing Shinyhunters hackers who trusted the violation.
The hackers are allegedly stole 18 million customer records from the database.
Stellantis is the latest in a list of hundreds of companies, including CloudFlare, Google, Proofpoint, and more, and is a long list of companies whose data has been stolen from a Salesforce instance in recent violations affecting Salesloft Drift.
