Two weeks after Kirk was shot dead in Utah, several world leaders gathered for the UN General Assembly this week, referring to the murder of conservative activists and some of the divisive spills of responses to it as evidence of a deeper rift in global society.
Serb President Alexander Vic said on Wednesday that “an expression of pleasure in crime committed against innocent people” that Kirk’s response to his death represents “the best confirmation of it.”
Social media was lit up in the days following Kirk’s death on September 10th with those who lamented his loss. Some of them said they opposed Kirk’s ideological stance but supported their right to speak up – and those celebrating it.
It sparked a national debate about freedom of speech. Comments led to firing Many peoplefrom political analysts and opinions writers to school employees. Several conservative activists have sought to target everyone from journalists to teachers by identifying social media users whose posts about Kirk were considered offensive or congratulatory.
On Wednesday, Vucic said he wrote the boundary that the response to the assassination of conservative activists was “a lot more than ideologically, but it’s not due to differences in emotional hatred.”
“This kind of development will destroy the global political community in a much deeper and clearer way than the confrontation with clear and visible actors,” Vucic said of how such seemingly singly events can evoke such a strong response around the world.
“He was assassinated because his murderer didn’t like his idea,” Wücic said of Kirk, suggesting that some of the reactions in the aftermath of the murder caused more damage in relation to the split that owed. “He was shot after his death by the same people who prepared political and media grounds for his assassination.”
Kirk was assassinated at the September 10th event at Utah Valley University. President Donald Trump and other administrative leaders gathered on Sunday Additional serviceother speakers noted the global response to Kirk’s death, referring to the regions around the world where the monument was born.
Paraguayan President Santiago Peña also mentioned Kirk’s speech on Wednesday, saying in Spanish he was “shake, sad and tormented” by Kirk’s murder, and argued that “a creepy response must awaken us from our sleepy state.”
Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelenkie mentioned Kirk, referring to the death of a stab wound last month. Ukrainian refugees Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light rail system, representing “headlines about violent attacks taking place all over the world.”
“Sadly, his life was short with bullets,” Zelensky said of Kirk. “Once again, violence with a rifle in hand.”
