According to reports, Gareth Southgate has decided to take the “stance” to replace Old Trafford’s Manchester United head coach Reuben Amorim.
Amorim is undergoing immense scrutiny at Man UTD as issues last season were carried over to the campaign and the Premier League giants are still struggling in the lower half of the table.
Following Mann UTD’s 3-1 defeat against Brentford last weekend, Amorim became the favourite to become the next Premier League manager.
United and Amorim are hoping for a positive result on Saturday as they host the newly promoted Sunderland at Old Trafford regardless of their club head coaching days.
Recently, Man UTD has linked to several potential alternatives, such as Andniira Ola in Bournemouth and Oliver Glazer in Crystal Palace, but Southgate has also been mentioned as a competitor.

Before Man Wood reportedly appointed Amorim before targeting Southgate, he is understood to have a strong relationship with co-owner Ir Jim Ratcliffe, but was keen to take a break from management after a long spell as a British boss.
Currently, Southgate has reportedly taken a break and returned to Man UTD’s radar, but reports from the mirror claim that his current “stance” would “reject an approach from Manchester United if Amorim is fired.”
“It is understood that Southgate is not in a hurry to return to football, but he keeps his options open, both in-game and outside.
“He has been seen in many games and other sporting events over the past few months and remains close to many of his former free agency colleagues. However, Southgate is also a close friend of Dan Ashworth, who had long-term plans when Southgate worked for United.

Meanwhile, former Man UTD goalkeeper Ben Foster explained why he thinks “Iraora is ‘one'” to replace Amorim in one concern for Southgate.
“Iraaura is for me,” Foster told the Cycling GK podcast.
“You lost half of your team, half of your starting lineup, and then it’s just as impressive. For me, that means you’re the right coach.
But if they’re trying to get an irraa or a glassner, it’s going to cost a lot of money. ”
At Southgate, he added: “I don’t think what they’re doing with Gareth Southgate is very different from what they’ve done so far, and what they’re doing isn’t working.”
