Rangers legend Ally McCoist changed his Premier League title forecast after supporting Liverpool before the season began.
Champions Liverpool is the league’s top spot after six games, but lost their final Premier League match against Crystal Palace.
They followed suit with a Champions League defeat at Galatasaray on Tuesday. This was the second time the Reds have lost a back-to-back game under Arne Slot.
Arsenal is widely considered Liverpool’s top challenger for the title after finishing second in their third consecutive season, starting the season well with four wins from six fixtures.
Mikel Arteta’s side had already faced Liverpool in 2025/26, losing a tight match 1-0 on August 31 at Anfield.

The city is not mentioned as a serious contender alongside Arsenal and Liverpool, but it is definitely considered a third favorite over the rest of the top flight.
They are not mentioned by the popular Pandit McCoist who has the “despicable sense” for gunners to win the title after predicting Liverpool will hold the crown before the ball is kicked.
“At the beginning of the season when I made predictions, I fantasized about Liverpool. I really did,” McCoist told Talksport.
“I thought they were really well strengthened with the windows they had.
“But, strangely enough, after Szoboszlai set his goal of defeating Arsenal, I have a sleazy feeling for Arsenal.
“I think defensively. I’ve seen two centre-backs, even (Christian) Mosquera.
“If Liverpool loses Allison, especially (Virgil) Van Dyke, I’m just worried. I think we’re in a great season.”
Liverpool was injured by Allison in the Champions League defeat at Galatasaray this week.
He was forced out in the second half and replaced by Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The slot side is active when they play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
