Man Utd “we don’t intend to plunge into decisions” about sacking Ruben Amorim, as journalists reveal the possibility of the Red Devils head coach resigning.
Amorim’s side has had another very contradictory season so far. Man UTD won three and lost three, drawing one of the first seven Premier League fixtures this semester, but the Red Devils are also out of the League Cup.
There are rumours that Amorim will be judged by a 38-game “Yardstick” that will impress four more matches before the Premier League performance is reviewed.
After a week of bag rumours, Amorim bouncing off from his defeat to Brentford last weekend by beating Sunderland 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Scholes hoped Man Utd could finish in the top six this season, but he’s already lowering expectations for him to be in the top half.
The Man UTD legend told overlap fans’ debates before his match with Sunderland:

“It seems they can’t bring together two victories. Potentially, they can do better, but at this point it doesn’t seem like that.”
The Shoals admitted that they would accept Amorim being fired last weekend after conceding three goals against Brentford.
He added: “You don’t like the manager being fired and none of us like to do that. But if he was fired on Sunday, I think we’d all be like, ‘Yeah, that’s time.’
“I think he made an excuse last year. He couldn’t train. Well, he could train, but there was a game every three days.
“He has it all now, they’re spending £200 million, he’s spending three weeks between games, redoing everything he wants to do and understanding his style. Are there any signs that it’ll get better?
“Look, you want him to do well, but he has to win a football match and he hasn’t won enough football matches to ensure he’s got to work in that moment.”

There was also talk of Amorim’s decision to quit before he fired him to protect his reputation, but football insider journalist Pete O’Rourke claims he’s “very surprised” to see the Portuguese head coach take that step.
O’Rourke told Football Insider:
“There’s a big question mark in Amorim’s future. He led them to 20 wins out of 50 games that aren’t enough for Man United.
“However, he still has the support of Ineos and Im Jim Ratcliffe, so they will not rush to decide.
“Amorim hasn’t seen him ready to call it quits yet.
“And if he resigns, he’ll give up a lot of money, so there aren’t many people who think who’s going to think he’ll do it.”
